Key Information
UVC is a type of ultra violet energy in the 260 ā nanometer frequency. The āCā wavelength is the most germicidal in the UV spectrum. What is UVC?
Ultraviolet (UV) light is electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength shorter than that of visible light but longer than x-rays.
The UV spectrum has many effects and when applied can be very beneficial. Early uses in the 20th Century included in the treatment of wounded soldiers to prevent infection in field hospitals.
So how does it work?
UVC works by breaking down the DNA or RNA of viruses, bacteria and mould preventing their ability to replicate.
UVC applications
Steril-Aire UVC emitters have a wide range of applications across industries. These include:
- HVAC systems
- Refrigeration plant
- Sterilization in hospitals
- Sterilization in food processing
Why Steril-Aire?
Unlike other brands Steril-Aire emitters are designed to work in cold moving air down to 0 Celsius at full output enabling a broad spectrum of uses once thought impossible by standard UVC lamps.
The images above show samples taken from a cooling coil, pre and post UVC treatment.
