Key Information
HVAC /AHU systems are not only a potential breeding ground for the spread of disease - they are sometimes the cause of the problem.
UVC and indoor air quality
Micro organisms such as Legionella which enter and grow in HVAC systems are the most notorious example. Less dangerous but far more typical is the growth of mould, the most common form of allergen. In the dark, moist environment of HVAC systems mould spores can proliferate year round.
This can cause allergic reactions in some building users with typical symptoms including congestion, breathing difficulties, Asthma and other complications. These are often symptoms associated with sick building syndrome.
Biological contaminates are also amongst the most difficult to control. Though high efficiency HEPA filters are helpful many existing systems are not suitable for filter upgrades without major modification. In addition many micro organisms are typically less than 1 micron in size (some viruses are as small as 0.003 to 0.004 microns) meaning even high efficiency filtration may be inadequate.
Your solution
Steril-Aire high output UVC emitters ™ that produce germicidal UV energy which penetrates the outer structure of these organisms and alters the DNA / RNA of the molecule. This can be used for both surface and airborne micro-organisms preventing cell replication. They also provide a safe continuous way of cleaning the cooling/heating coil and drain pans keeping your building and occupants healthy.
